The Mighty Armory 9mm Carbide Taper Crimp Die tapers the cartridge case back to proper SAAMI spec angle for reliable feeding and consistent neck tension. These dies are mechanically perfect and fully functional, but may show cosmetic surface finish marks from handling, demo use, or light refurbishment. Performance is unaffected.
Unlike carbide ring inserts, Mighty Armory carbide dies feature a full-length pressed-in carbide bore. The carbide sleeve is tension-fit into the die body against a stop wall, with a steel-wrapped base to ensure long-term structural integrity and zero movement under load. This design delivers superior alignment, strength, and durability compared to traditional insert-style carbide dies.
Once the bullet is seated, the taper crimp returns the case mouth to SAAMI spec sizing for uniform tension around the bullet, improving feeding and helping prevent bullet setback. Typical 9mm crimp diameter is .376"–.379", depending on brass thickness and bullet profile.
